Wagner had moved to New Zealand in 2008 and his inclusion in the New Zealand team has been highly anticipated, following two prolific seasons on the domestic circuit.Last month, there was some doubt over how soon Wagner would be eligible to play for New Zealand. The ICC’s regulations state that a player must reside in the relevant country for a minimum of 183 days for four consecutive years to qualify. Wagner had had two short trips out of New Zealand during his time there but received positive rulings on his applications for these two absences to be viewed as exceptional circumstances, prompting him to be declared eligible.The New Zealand board had submitted the applications on Wagner’s behalf to the ICC’s exceptional circumstances committee, who then made a recommendation to cricket committee chairman Clive Lloyd.During his run in domestic cricket, where he has represented Notherns and more recently Otago, Wagner was named the most valuable player of the Plunket Shield for 2010-11, after taking 51 wickets in nine games in the competition. That included a record five wickets in one over, against Wellington. In the 2011-12 season he had topped the wicket-takers’ list again, with 46 wickets in 10 games.New Zealand’s next international assignment is a tour of the Caribbean that begins in Florida at the end of June.

Matthew Wade is expected to make his Test debut against West Indies next month after Cricket Australia confirmed Brad Haddin would not return to the tour. In a statement, Cricket Australia cited “family reasons” for Haddin’s decision not to rejoin the squad after he flew home from the Caribbean ahead of the first ODI.Wade was Australia’s first-choice gloveman for the limited-overs portion of the tour but the selector Rod Marsh indicated last week that Haddin remained the No.1 wicketkeeper in the Test side. The following day, Haddin flew home for personal reasons.”Cricket Australia fully supports Brad’s decision to remain in Australia and sends its best wishes to him and his family at this time,” the general manager of team performance, Pat Howard, said after Haddin confirmed he would not return to the tour.The New South Wales wicketkeeper Peter Nevill will remain with the squad for the Test portion of the tour, having flown in to replace Haddin for the one-dayers. But having impressed during over the past two months in the shorter formats, Wade will be the clear first choice for the first Test, which begins on April 7 in Barbados.While the precise reason for Haddin’s decision to remain at home is unclear, it does raise serious doubts over whether his international career will continue. Australia’s next Test series is not until the 2012-13 home summer, when they face South Africa, by which time Haddin will be 35 and will no longer be the incumbent in any format.Meanwhile, Australia’s captain Michael Clarke has been ruled fit to join the squad for the Test series after being sidelined from the one-dayers due to a hamstring injury. Clarke will fly out of Sydney on Sunday ahead of the three-Test series.
Liverpool duo Curtis Jones and Divock Origi will miss the Reds’ vital Champions League clash with Real Madrid through injury.
Jurgen Klopp’s men face one of their biggest games of the season on Wednesday night, as Madrid make the trip to Anfield.
The Spanish giants won 3-1 in last week’s quarter-final first leg clash, on a night when Liverpool were hugely disappointing throughout.
Another special Anfield night in Europe is required, but this time, the Reds will have to do it without supporters roaring them on.
Jones and Origi out of Real Madrid clash
Liverpool’s injury problems may have been easing in recent weeks, apart from at centre-back, but they will have to make do without Jones and Origi at Anfield, according to the Mirror.
The news emerged on Tuesday that neither player was spotted in training at Kirkby, suggesting they will play no part in proceedings against Madrid.

Jones may not have started the first leg, but his creativity is a loss, with the 20-year-old capable of opening up defences with a moment of magic.
His tally of four goals for the season is more than any of Liverpool’s other midfielders, too, highlighting the guile he possesses in the final third. With some of the forwards struggling this term, losing a goal threat from midfield will certainly hurt.
Meanwhile, Origi’s ability to produce huge moments in Europe was evident against Barcelona and Tottenham in 2018/19, so his impact as a substitute could also be missed on the type of night when cult heroes such as Origi are born.

Estes pagamentos mais recentes foram efetuados após o depósito da Caixa Econômica Federal. O banco estatal depositou a primeira parte do aporte acordado pelo patrocínio máster do futebol do clube.

O técnico Osmar Loss, enfim, parece ter encontrado o esquema ideal para o Corinthians. O 4-2-3-1, com um centroavante, agradou ao treinador e deve ser mantido para os próximos jogos.
Após ver o sistema ofensivo emperrado no 4-2-4, Loss apostou em Roger no lugar de Clayson para a partida decisiva contra o Colo-Colo (CHI). Mesmo com a eliminação na Libertadores, o treinador gostou do que viu na vitória por 2 a 1.
– Acho que o Roger teve um papel importante nesse projeto ofensivo, teve retenção de bola. A ideia era ter profundidade em cima do zagueiro da sobra deles, conseguimos empurrar muitas bolas para ele. Fazer 20 minutos de treinamento para fazer tudo isso… Os jogadores foram sensacionais por absorverem em pouco tempo. É mérito do Roger por ter se adaptado, mérito da equipe por ter acreditado no plano de jogo – analisou Loss, em entrevista coletiva depois da partida contra o Colo-Colo.
A tendência é de que Roger permaneça na equipe, já que o esquema foi elogiado e Clayson terá de cumprir suspensão nos próximos dois jogos. Giles Clarke has been rubber stamped as ECB chairman for a third term after the completion of the election process where he was the only candidate for the role.The 41 members of the ECB, which comprises the 18 first-class counties, 21 county boards, the MCC and the Minor Counties Cricket Association, returned Clarke as chairman for a third term which runs until the AGM in 2015.”I am honoured to be re-elected as Chairman of the ECB until 2015, and would like to thank the members for their continued confidence and support,” Clarke said. “We have a magnificent complement of players, fans, volunteers and staff representing our sport, from the grassroots structures to the top of the professional game. Their continued dedication and commitment to the sport is irreplaceable, and deeply appreciated by all those who love the game.”Before taking up the role of chairman, Clarke, as ECB chairman of marketing, was instrumental in the controversial deal that saw live television rights sold exclusively to Sky Sports in 2005. In January, he brokered an extended agreement, with Sky remaining the sole live broadcaster of cricket until 2017 after paying an estimated £260 million.Clarke recently settled his legal dispute with sports marketing company IMG out of court. IMG had brought a libel case against Clarke over an email he sent to the BCCI about meetings between the Indian board, IMG and several county representatives over what Clarke thought were discussions about forming an IPL-style competition in England.
