سلطت تقارير صحفية إنجليزية الضوء على صراع المنافسة على جائزة الحذاء الذهبي في الموسم الحالي من الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، وسط تنافس شرس بين محمد صلاح وبرونو فرنانديز.

ويتصدر نجم ليفربول محمد صلاح جدول هدافي الدوري الإنجليزي في الوقت الحالي، برصيد 17 هدفًا (لمطالعة ترتيب الهدافين من هنا).

ويتفوق صلاح بفارق هدف عن كل من برونو فرنانديز لاعب مانشستر يونايتد، وهاري كين لاعب توتنهام.

شبكة “manchestereveningnews” الإنجليزية ترى أن برونو فرنانديز يستطيع أن يحقق إنجازًا تاريخيًا في الدوري الإنجليزي إذا فاز بجائزة الحذاء الذهبي هذا الموسم.

وأوضحت أن برونو فرنانديز في حال تحقيق هذا الإنجاز، سيصبح أول لاعب خط وسط في تاريخ الدوري الإنجليزي يفوز بالحذء الذهبي.

وأشارت إلى إن محمد صلاح في الوقت نفسه سيحاول إيقاف برونو فرنانديز، ساعيًا إلى الفوز بلقب هداف الدوري الإنجليزي للمرة الثالثة في مسيرته.

وسبق لـ صلاح الفوز بالحذاء الذهبي في موسم 2017/18، وفاز به في الموسم التالي مشتركًا مع زميله ساديو ماني ولاعب آرسنال بيير إيميريك أوباميانج.

وكان آخر لاعب في مانشستر يونايتد يفوز بتلك الجائزة هو روبن فان بيرسي في موسم 2012/13.

وسبق لـ أربعة لاعبين آخرين الفوز بهذه الجائزة خلال تواجدهم في مانشستر يونايتد، وهم ديميتار برباتوف بالاشتراك مع كارلوس تيفيز لاعب مانشستر سيتي في موسم 2010/11، وكريستيانو رونالدو موسم 2007/08، ورود فان نيستلروي موسم 2002/03، وداويت يورك موسم 1998/99.

وذكرت الشبكة أن ما يشجع فرنانديز على المضي قدمًا في سباق هدافي الدوري الإنجليزي هو أنه سجل خمسة أهداف في آخر 8 مباريات في الدوري، بينما سجل محمد صلاح هدفين فقط في الفترة نفسها.

عقد الفرنسي باتريس كارتيرون المدير الفني للفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي الزمالك، جلسة خاصة مع جهازه المعاون، قبيل انطلاق المران الختامي استعدادا لمواجهة الترجي التونسي بدوري أبطال إفريقيا.

ومن جانبه، علن الدكتور محمد أسامة رئيس الجهاز الطبي بالفريق الأول لكرة القدم بنادي الزمالك، عن سلبية المسحة الخاصة باللاعبين والجهاز الفني للكشف عن فيروس كورونا، قبل مواجهة الترجي التونسي.

يتولى أيمن الطويل مدرب حراس مرمى فريق الناشئين بنادي الزمالك مواليد 2003، مهمة تدريب حراس الفريق الأول في لقاء الترجي التونسي.

Real Madrid seem to be growing in stature as far as La Liga is concerned.

Los Blancos are finally back in the upper part of the table and are currently above both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. But the important thing for Zinedine Zidane is that things slowly seem to be falling into place at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Whites have dropped points on two occasions so far in the season but their narrow 1-0 victory over Sevilla last weekend was a big one, even though the scoreboard would not necessarily suggest it.

Following that win, it wouldn’t be a stretch to conclude that Zidane might just apply the same formula he used in Andalusia in Wednesday’s clash with Osasuna.

With that in mind, and taking Real Madrid’s injuries into consideration – Marco Asensio, Luka Modric and Marcelo are all likely to be out among others – here’s what we think their starting XI might look like:

Thibaut Courtois finally got his clean sheet in La Liga last weekend against Sevilla. That was Real Madrid’s first in the ongoing campaign and it could prompt Zidane to leave the majority of his backline unchanged.

Unfortunately for the Whites, Ferland Mendy has been officially confirmed as the latest injured player in their midst. And with Marcelo already out of the picture, Nacho should be called upon to play at left-back.

The well-known tandem of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane will occupy the centre-back positions. After a great game against Sevilla, Daniel Carvajal is bound to start on the right again.

The middle of the park will also remain unchanged, with Toni Kroos, Casemiro and James Rodriguez all once again featuring in the starting XI and just behind a trident that is likely to become Real’s trademark.

Eden Hazard will play on the left, with Karim Benzema central and Gareth Bale on the right.

Once both Marcelo and Luka Modric return to action and most likely into the starting lineup, we could be looking at Zidane’s gala XI for all the big games but even without the aforementioned duo, this lineup is formidable and capable of picking up all three points.

Osasuna, indeed, have won just once this season, a 1-0 triumph over Leganes.

Real will expect to collect all three points.

After losing their unbeaten record in midweek at Leeds United, the Baggies showed incredible character to put that behind them and carry on as if nothing major had occurred.

Their enigmatic loan duo Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana slammed home two delightful efforts from range to hand Albion a two-goal advantage at half-time.

Charlie Austin then finally bagged his first league goal for the club with a low-driven effort after beating the Bluebirds’ backline with a burst of pace.

Though, it is at this very point that manager Slaven Bilic could have cost them the game.

According to the Croatian post-game, he wanted his side to bag a fourth goal despite being already three to the good.

He makes a perfectly valid point in reference to the historic 2005 Champions League final, where Liverpool came from behind against AC Milan to beat them on penalties, despite being 3-0 down at half-time.

However, it might actually show that he has a lack of faith in his side to close out results when under pressure to do so.

His comments would have had an adverse effect if his players did indeed feel that way inclined, especially considering they had guided the team to nine straight games without defeat before this week.

Their character also shouldn’t be tested as they rank first for points gained after falling behind – by a considerable margin too, having picked up 15 points from eight deficits.

Bilic’s men have only kept one clean sheet this season, so with the game at 3-0, it would appear likely that an opposition goal would be coming, so that may add some strength to the Croatian’s comments.

Either way, he should be backing his side to see out the victory as within five minutes of netting the third, substitute Danny Ward had hit one back, and that then soon was doubled to make the game nervously poised in the final stages. Is it any surprise there’s a lack of faith? Arguably not.

It remains to be seen how they would have reacted without his comments about ‘needing a fourth goal,’ but it must have played some part considering they almost crumbled to be on the receiving end of their own ‘Istanbul’ up in the west Midlands.

Romaine Sawyers did eventually get the goal his boss desperately wanted with pretty much the final kick of the game as he slotted home from Pereira’s pass.

However, if anything, Bilic’s comments show exactly why they did need that fourth goal.

Antoine Griezmann was Barcelona’s big summer signing in the last transfer window.

The Frenchman arrived from Atletico Madrid and seeing how the Catalans had to fork out a hefty sum of €120m (£104.4m) to get their man, it’s safe to say that a lot is expected from him at the Camp Nou.

But so far, he’s experienced quite a rocky start to his new career at the Catalan capital.

And granted, scoring three goals and assisting a further two in just seven La Liga games is by no means a bad record but some of his performances in important games, like the one against Inter Milan in the Champions League, should already be cause for alarm at Barcelona.

This is mostly due to the fact that, for one reason or the other, Ernesto Valverde sees Griezmann as a left-winger as opposed to a centre-forward, despite making his name as a centre-forward at Atletico.

But Valverde is adamant in maintaining this approach, at least for now as it seems, and it still remains to be seen whether the Blaugrana’s big signing will be able to adapt to this challenge and overcome it in the near future.

Further proof of how his performances clearly differ when his position on the pitch changes can be found in his latest display for his national team, France.

The current champions of the world drew with Turkey in one of their Euro 2020 qualifiers and Griezmann was deployed in a more central role, as the team’s no.10, just behind the striker; a role that puts him in a more familiar position on the pitch and a role that offers him more freedom than what he’s getting at Barca.

Even though he was not at his brilliant best, the Frenchman was still the highest-rated player on the team with a 7.6 rating according to Sofascore.

He warranted that rating with his assist that gave France the lead and also by deploying six key passes and by having 75 touches on the night.

Apart from that, Griezmann also maintained 81% passing accuracy with a total of 43 passes and had five shots, two of which were on target.

All in all, the main takeaway from that game is that he was involved in all the proceedings on the pitch and even managed to impact the result directly by assisting Olivier Giroud for that opening goal.

The difference between that performance and the ones he has produced for Barcelona lately is still huge and game by game, Valverde’s decision to keep Griezmann out wide is becoming all the more baffling.
